About Dom Famularo
Dom Famularo (1953–2023) was recognized worldwide as one of the most influential drummers, educators, and motivational speakers.
Over 40 years, Dom held masterclasses, clinics, and lectures in more than 50 countries across five continents. He inspired millions of drummers through his performances and passionate commitment to music education.
He served as educational consultant for major brands such as Sabian Cymbals, Promark Sticks, Mapex Drums, Evans Drumheads, Hudson Music Publications, and Wizdom Media, supervising global music initiatives.
Dom hosted and appeared at countless drum expos; his New York WizDOM Drumshed studio trained over 1,000 students from 20+ countries. He dedicated his life to spreading music and educational innovation, authoring numerous books and teaching materials.
Dom sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer on September 27, 2023. Through Drumlab®, we hope to bring more people closer to Dom’s world-class music and educational philosophy.
About Jon Kin
Jon Kin is a renowned Hong Kong professional drummer and senior drum instructor, long mentored by Dom Famularo, Thomas Lang, Chris Brien, and Stephane Chamberland.
Jon’s outstanding technique and dedication are highly regarded by the international drumming community. He received recognition from Rockschool and is a current member of Drumeo for Teachers, Sabian Education Network (SEN), D’Addarío Education Collective (DEC), and Vic Firth’s Private Drum Teacher Program (PDT).
Jon has served as drum tech for international stars including Dom Famularo, Marco Minnemann, Dave Weckl, Simon Phillips, Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, and Thomas Lang, assisting during their Hong Kong clinics, shows, and masterclasses.
He is the exclusive Tama Custom-made “Neon Green” drum kit user in Hong Kong, with long-term collaborations with Tama, Sabian, Promark, and Evans. He has also participated in international events such as NAMM Show 2016, 2017, and 2018, building global connections with musicians, producers, and instrument makers.
Jon’s creed: “The more you know, the more you share!” He is committed to bringing cutting-edge, global drumming knowledge back to Hong Kong, empowering local drummers to truly enjoy music and become expressive artists and musicians.
